Toggle1. Porto katsiki
Perhaps the most famous beach of Lefkada and certainly one of the most beautiful. Porto Katsiki is located at the southwestern tip of the island. It is about an hour and 20 minutes from the town of Lefkada and the road to here has a lot of twists and turns. The beach is not organized and if you choose to visit it to swim you should bring your own equipment. Also around the beach there is only private parking for which you will have to pay ten euros to leave your car. Access to the beach is by stairs starting from the parking lot. The beach in the summer is extremely crowded so our opinion is to visit the beach to admire the incredible view from above especially in the afternoon and then visit other nearby beaches for swimming .
2. Egremni
Lefkada beaches and steep slopes meet one after the other and this is also true in the case of Egremna beach. The view of the beach from above is unique. Especially on sunny days the waters have a magical blue hue. It is about an hour away from the town of Lefkada and the drive here is quite winding. The beach is not organized and if you visit it to swim you should bring your own equipment. To get down to the beach you will have to walk for about 20 minutes on a route with a big difference in altitude. Access to the beach may not be easy but it is one of the most beautiful and least touristic beaches of Lefkada. We suggest you visit it for its view or even for swimming if walking is not an issue for you.
3. Kavalikefta beach
In the western part of Lefkada you will find the beach of Kavalikefta. The shade of the waters combined with the rock formations make it one of the most beautiful beaches of Lefkada. It is organized and there is a beach bar with parking and toilets at the access point to the beach. Parking around the beach costs 8 euros. It is about forty minutes from the town of Lefkada and the drive here has several bends and narrow streets. It is ideal if you are looking for a beautiful place to enjoy swimming with easy access and without much tourism.
4. Megali Petra Beach
Next to Kavalikefta beach is the beach of Megali Petra. The beach is unorganized but just as beautiful as the other beaches on the west side. Access here is by a path that starts from the parking lot of Kavalikefta beach. It is ideal if you are looking for a beautiful place to enjoy swimming with little tourism.
5. Kathisma beach
Lefkada beaches and sunsets will be an essential part of your holiday there and one of the best places to admire them is Kathisma beach. Perhaps the second most famous beach of Lefkada. Like all the beaches on the west side, the shades of the water here are unique. It is about half an hour away from Lefkada town and the drive here is quite easy. It is probably the most organized and easily accessible beach on the island and there are various beach bar options to choose from. Also at the spot there are several parking spaces some paid and some free. However in the summer it gets quite touristy. It is ideal if you are looking for an organised beach with very easy access.
6. Avali beach
South of Kathisma beach is the beach of Avali. The beach has an incredible beauty and quietness. It is about forty minutes away from the town of Lefkada and the drive here has several bends and narrow streets. There is a lovely beach bar on the beach near which you can find parking. Apart from the beach bar the beach is not organised so you are advised to bring your own equipment. The beach is ideal if you want to relax on a beautiful coast without much tourism.
7. Agios nikitas
In the northwestern part of the island is the village and the beach of Agios Nikitas. It is a small beach with beautiful waters and picturesque shops by the sea. During the summer months the beach is extremely crowded so we do not recommend it for swimming. But it is an ideal place if you want to enjoy your coffee or food by the sea. It is about 25 minutes from the town of Lefkada and the drive to here is quite easy. If you are coming from Lefkada town, we recommend leaving your car well before the village as there is a coastal path on the eastern part of the beach that leads easily to the village without having to look for parking more centrally.
8. Pefkoulia beach
In the northwestern part of the island is the beach of Pefkoulia. It is a large beach with beautiful waters and plenty of peace and quiet. It is about 20 minutes from the town of Lefkada and the drive to this place is quite easy. The beach for the most part is unorganized and you will usually see many people free camping here.
